Note that you can also search poets Alphabetically, by Nationality, Contemporary, etc. So if the list is long and overwhelming, trying narrowing your search. You can also search poets on your own and bring them to me on Monday/Tuesday.

When you select your poet, you'll also what to have an idea of the four poems you'll be using in your culminating project. These poems should be at least 20 lines long or more.

Everyone MUST have a poet in mind on Monday/Tuesday.

Your slam poems are due next class for my didn't go to the music assembly and on Friday for my class that did go.

They should be 25 lines minimum and employ as many poetic devices as you can. Practice at home so you can memorize your poem.

Poetry analysis of "no handlebars" by flobots. (google it)

Your analysis should be four paragraphs:

Para 1: introduction in which you discussion the vision and included your thesis statement.

Para 2: The line or auditory or simple poetic qualities. The prosody of the poem.

Para 3: The meaning or thoughts or complex qualities of the poem.

Para 4: your conclusion.

Also, don't forget your slam poems are due next class. Be prepared to perform!

Look up the following poets/people. Write two to three sentence about each one. You can use google or wikipedia to find out information about each one.

Create a chart and type up your information.
